Gareth Bale shines in Real Madrid's 2016/2017 La Liga opener

As the 2016/2017 Spanish top league opened another book of legends and records, Gareth Bale required fewer than two minutes to rocket home a header and put Real Madrid up against Real Sociedad in Los Blancos‘ La Liga season opener. Bale would also score with the last kick of the game to bookend a comfortable 3-0 away victory for the winners of the 2015-16 Champions League. Being a potential contester for the upcoming prestigious Ballon  d'Or, the Welshman continued his case for the 2016 Ballon d’Or following an impressive run at Euro 2016 over the summer, after a strong conclusion to the 2015-16 season. By the end of the 2015-16 season, Bale played as the central attacking figure for Zinedine Zidane’s revitalized Real Madrid.

The DRIMP Foundation Championship Trophy Was Received In Bondu With Fanfare

The people of Bondu-Tabenken are known for their hospitality and their enormous love for football. Many decades ago, our grandmothers used to cook shaa' to celebrate our respective victories at the Tabenken inter quarters competitions. To continue what was initiated by our ancestors, the elites of Bondu-Tabenken have never given a deaf ear to the call and demands of the Hungry Lions FC of Bondu. Today, this reporter is told that the Hungry Lions have at least eight pairs of kits and eight new balls. No other football team in Tabenken can be compared to the Hungry Lions FC in terms of the above mentioned materials. This is the handwork of the people who cherish the game of football.
After yesterday's 3-1 victory at the DRIMP Foundation Championship played against Recreation FC of Binju at the Nkambe municipal stadium, the team got what I should describe as standing ovation from the people of Bondu-Tabenken who saluted the team that has elevated beyond the valley of Tabenken. At the end of the match in Nkambe, there were telephone calls coming in from the elites of Bondu who praised the boys for their maturity. While announcing the various prizes, one of the MC announced that Ta Nformi Ngala Gerard has supported the Hungry Lions with 50,000 FCFA and 30,000 FCFA for Recreation FC of Binju (the runners up). A few minutes later, another call came in announcing that Mr Demian  Yembe Ngala (the elder brother of Ngala Gerard) has added grace to glory by supporting the Hungry Lions with 75,000 FCFA. The team took home and estimated sum of 40,000 FCFA. This is as a result of the fact that they were given 200,000 FCFA for emerging as the gold medalists at the Divisional level plus 75,000 FCFA that they received for leading their own zone of the tournament one week before the finals in Nkambe.
With joy and happiness, the Hungry Lions left Nkambe that same night for Bondu-Tabenken. I'm told that both young and old people came out and gathered at the junction to welcome the team that has made them proud. I'm equally told that many activities were boycotted in Bondu quarter from the moment they heard that the boys were bringing home a "big cup". The catechist of St Joseph Catholic Mission Bondu quarter traveled all away from Bondu to Nkambe to cheer the team. If you know the man I'm talking about, you will agree with me that the people of Bondu are undoubtedly football lovers.
NB: This reporter's preoccupation here is the team(the Hungry Lions FC) not the tournament (DRIMP Foundation Championship). My next post will give a vivid description of the nature of the tournament and other activities that accompanied the tournament.

Finals of DRIMP Football Championship: HT Hungry Lions FC 3-1 Recreation FC

It's all going well here at the Nkambe Municipal stadium for the supporters and fans of the Hungry Lions FC of Bondu. When Kongnyu Hans opened the the net for the Lions at about 18 mins into the First Half, it was evident that that the spirit of the lions was beyond control. Known for it's fare play, the the boys from Tabenken valley maintained a regular but uncontrollable dominance as "Daddy the Witches" added a second goal for the the dream team from Bondu-Tabenken. It did not take long for legendary Ndi Oliver to make it 3-0 in favour of the Indomitable Lions through a penalty kick.
At some few seconds to the end of the first half, Recreation FC touched the net to make the Half Time score Hungry Lions 3-1 Recreation FC
